The short version
Your text never leaves your browser. TextWash's detection and cleaning run entirely on your device as client-side JavaScript. Text you paste, type, or open from a file is never transmitted to us or anyone else, never stored on a server, and never logged. You can load the page, disconnect from the internet, and everything still works.
What is stored on your device
TextWash keeps a few small preferences in your browser's local storage: your theme choice (light/dark), a running count of fingerprints you've washed, and a flag noting you've seen the demo. These stay on your device, are never transmitted, and are deleted if you clear your browser data.
Hosting
The site is served by Cloudflare. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes standard connection data (such as IP address and browser user agent) to deliver the site and protect it from abuse, under Cloudflare's privacy policy. We do not receive or review this data as personal information.
Analytics
If enabled, we use Cloudflare Web Analytics, which is cookie-free and does not track individuals across sites. We run no other analytics and set no tracking cookies.
Advertising
TextWash currently shows no ads and sets no advertising cookies. If we introduce advertising (such as Google AdSense) to keep the tool free, the following will apply on pages where ads appear: third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this or other websites; Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on your visits to this and other sites. You may opt out of personalized advertising at Google Ads Settings, and visitors in regions requiring consent will be asked before any advertising cookies are set. This page will be updated with the effective date if advertising launches. Ads will never appear inside the tool itself, and your pasted text is never shared with advertisers — the tool remains fully client-side.
Donations
The "buy me a coffee" link goes to Buy Me a Coffee, a third-party service with its own privacy policy. We receive no personal data from your visit to their site.
